Light bulbs
200 years ago people didn’t use light bulbs, they didn’t even have electricity. How times have changed. The humble incandescent light bulb, once a marvellous resource, is now contributing significantly to global warming. ‘Sister Moon’ tells her class that incandescent bulbs are not so good as they also produce heat and waste energy. Scientist Jiang Kejun lends support – did you know that 900 grams of CO2 are produced for every kilowatt hour of electricity?
Whilst host, Sister Moon teaches children how to look after their world for tomorrow, Chelsea Mark visits the lighting museum and asks people how many bulbs they have. Not everyone can answer this question so he ends up getting himself invited into their homes to count for himself. There is one problem with all of this though; he doesn’t know how many he has, nor what kind, so he has to make a quick stop at his home to sort out this problem.
By the way, how many bulbs do you have?
